Trying this out....again....

So, for a while I had my blog blocked so no one could see it while I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with this thing.  (Just in case anyone was wondering, I was the only one that was able to see it, I was not excluding anyone from seeing it, it was set so that only I could.  I really hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings, thinking they were the only ones that were not invited to see my blog.)

Anyway, I decided that I would open it back up again, and start all over.  I deleted all my old posts and am starting over new!

Anyway, for those that missed the news....

On March 31, 2010, I checked into the hospital for a scheduled induction.  My due date was April 5, 2010, however I developed gestational diabetes as well as the fact that I had blood pressure issues while pregnant, so the decision was made to go in for an induction during my 39th week of pregnancy.  We got to the hospital just before 9 pm on March 31st....

After a little bit of complications (baby had his first bowel movement while still in the womb, he issues with his heart rate dropping, I had issues with my blood pressure going up, as well as a few other issues), my OB came in and said she wasn't going to pressure us into doing anything we didn't want, however she thought a c-section would probably be our best option because of all that was going on.  We discussed it, and all that we cared about was our baby getting here safe and that he was healthy, so we decided to go ahead with the c-section.  Within a half hour of making that decision, we were in the OR, waiting for our son to be born!

At 1:41 pm on April 1, 2010, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy, weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. and measuring 20 inches long.  (Added to the issues we knew about during labor, we also found out when he was born that he also had his cord wrapped around his neck twice!)

Beautiful boy, after his first bath in the nursery

On Saturday, April 3rd, they actually let us take him with us when we left the hospital!

Where we went straight home to torture the little guy like good parents would!  But really, the next day was his first Easter, we had to do a special picture to celebrate his first holiday!

Now, our little stinker is a 14 lb. 4 oz 4 month old and still just as beautiful, and we keep trying to find new, fun ways to torture him in pictures!

The first 4 months with our little guy has been very trying to say the least.  During my whole pregnancy, he was such a laid back baby, I had the easiest pregnancy (even with blood pressure issues and gestational diabetes).  However he has not been the easiest baby after his birth.  He has been a colicky baby, has reflux issues, so most evenings are pretty miserable.  No fun when you have to work all day and then the only quality time you get with your baby, he's a little fussybutt.  The colicky phase seems to be passing, only to give way to teething!   Yes, my little boy has 2 teeth that are trying to come through, so he's pretty unhappy while dealing with that!  I don't want to make it sound like my boy is always miserable...he does have his happy times.  He's got the cutest smile that just makes my heart melt when he sees me and just breaks into that huge grin that lets me know how much he loves his mommy.
