Outer Banks, NC....Take 1

{Insert blush smilie here}  I have been so lazy about uploading pictures this month to add to any blog posts....but the other day I uploaded a few pictures from our 2 trips this month and am ready to share about them!

Each August we normally will spend a weekend with Roy's aunt and uncle down in North Carolina's Outer Banks.  This year we were planning another trip for the weekend we were supposed to go and we were bummed about missing our yearly trip down there.  Anyway, a friend of mine from one of the message boards was going to be down there early in the month so we planned a day trip down there so we could meet her and then just spend a few hours poking around. 

One of my favorite foods is donuts....and one of the best places ever to get donuts is Duck Donuts...I love them!  So we got up bright and early, got ready, hit the road and headed to the Outer Banks with our first stop being Duck Donuts for breakfast.

To our surprise, when we got to the Bodie Island lighthouse, where we were meeting my friend Megan at, and the lighthouse is undergoing renovations.  Once we saw that, I remembered reading a story in the paper last year about them doing renovations so that eventually you will be able to go to the top to look out. 

We had a great visit with Megan, her husband, son, her best friend and her husband.  We had run into them the year before when we were both down there at the same time, but only got to spend a few minutes with them, so it was so nice to spend more time with them this time!  I'm already looking forward to seeing them again next year.

After we left Megan and her family, we went for lunch and did a little bit of looking around.  It was the first time we had used the baby carrier and someone really enjoyed it!  He's so into looking around and checking everything out, so we are sure he loved really being able to do that!

It was a great little day trip, we were so glad we had the chance to do it!
